One Hour Counselling Session

Individual counselling in-person, online, or by phone.
Individual counselling using integrative approaches that are tailored to your needs and personal circumstances. Using your narrative to explore holistically and authentically, we build skills to promote empowerment, wellness, and balance in your life.

One And A Half Hour ART Counselling Session

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a form of psychotherapy utilizing back-and-forth eye movements (similar to EMDR) that are combined with a technique called Voluntary Memory / Image Replacement. Together they work to reprogram the way in which distressing images and memories are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions in your body. ART is effective for concerns such as PTSD, Trauma, Phobias, Grief, Depression, Anxiety, and Addictions.

Equine Assisted Therapy

Equine-assisted psychotherapy incorporates horses into the therapeutic process. People engage in activities such as grooming, feeding, and leading a horse while being supervised by a mental health professional. The goals of this form of therapy include helping people develop skills such as emotional regulation, self-confidence, and responsibility. Available in Langley.

Third Party Billing

Our practitioners and sessions are covered under many extended health insurance plans. We can direct bill to many of these. We also direct bill to FNHA, CVAP, First Responders (BC Fire Fighters and Wildfire Membership, BCEHS), Metis Nation BC, WorksafeBC, WorkBC, MCFD, BC Autism Funding Unit, and Variety of Hearts Foundation. Please see further down this page for details on eligibility and which therapists at Blackbird are registered with these agencies.

One And A Half Hour Couples / Family Session

Integrated sessions utilize Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy to customize sessions.  Couples and / or family members  work through interpersonal concerns and relationship concerns to build communication skills. Clients identify and transform the negative processing and interaction patterns that create problems.  while addressing a wide range of issues from marital distress to individual anxiety and trauma.

Play Therapy

Directive play therapy with children between the ages of 3 to 12 years old. Directive play therapy helps children express their emotions through the form of play. This form of play uses sand trays, visual and expressive art, dolls, and board games. It teaches children how to recognize and regulate their emotions through play. Children benefit from play therapy as it allows a safe space to communicate their inner struggles and needs.

Walk-And-Talk Therapy

Walking Therapy is based on the idea that people are connected to and impacted by the natural environment. A growing body of research highlights the positive benefits of connecting with nature.  The beneficial effects of nature result not only from what people see but from what they experience through other senses as well.  Many other studies help to demonstrate the positive effects of nature on both physical and mental health.

Sub-Contracting / Workshops / In-House Training
