ANDREW SIMMONS, MSW, BSW, RSW

Welcome,

I am Andrew Simmons. I am dedicated and compassionate with a strong desire to make a positive impact on individuals and communities. I have a deep understanding of the importance of holistic well-being. I am committed to providing empathetic and culturally sensitive therapy sessions and I ally with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

I have experience working alongside people who are experiencing mental health,  chronic health conditions, end-of-life, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression. I have also worked alongside Indigenous and other BIPOC individuals. My practice is grounded in social justice and equity.

With a warm and approachable demeanor, I am dedicated to creating a safe space where clients can express themselves and work towards their personal goals. I work to listen to your stories and concerns, tailoring each session to suit your unique background and circumstances.

I share a genuine passion for promoting mental health and fostering meaningful connections. I will hold space for you with an open mind and a willingness to learn, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance your wellness. I am dedicated to empowering individuals on their paths to well-being.

Personally, I enjoy gardening, being in nature, and sharing time with my two beautiful dog.

Amanda Karpoff (Clinical Counselling Student)

Hello! I am Mandy. I am a second year clinical counselling student graduating in early August. I have experience in addictions, mental health, working with youth, entrepreneurs and artists, and facilitating change by uncovering barriers directly with clients in a student clinic. With a rich, multidimensional background rooted in creativity, community care, holistic healing and a background in fitness, movement, and somatics, I bring a deep understanding of the mind-body connection. I offer a warm, empathetic, non-judgemental and culturally sensitive approach to therapy, with a deep commitment to holistic well-being and strong allyship with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

My practice is non-pathologizing, inclusive, empathetic, and committed to holding space for people from all walks of life. I aim to support others in reconnecting with their innate abundance, creativity, and wisdom. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, somatic, and client-centered approach that honours each person’s lived experience.  I draw from a holistic spiritual lens, integrating movement, bodywork, and mindfulness to support clients in coming home to themselves.

As a neurodivergent artist, published author, single parent, and long-time mental health advocate, I am passionate about decolonizing the body, unlearning harmful systems, and removing barriers to healing. I have an entrepreneurial background as the founder and operator of an award-winning successful flower shop, where I led community outreach projects serving the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver.

I believe in lifelong learning, personal evolution, and cultivating ongoing self-awareness -- for both myself and those I work with.
